Making Christmas Ornaments & A Confession

Paint Stick ornaments.. These were so fun and easy
to make. Last year, I found these on this blog.
http://todaysfabulousfinds.blogspot.com/2010/11/printable-paintstick-ornaments-tutorial.html?m=1
She  made these free printables to use. And her instructions
are  so easy to follow..
Keep reading my confession will follow in the end. smile

I love the  truck/car and Christmas tree stuff. Carolyn at :
http://ourgildedabode.blogspot.com/2016/12/2016-christmas-decor.html

Carolyn, made some of these  mason jar ring ornaments ,
using  paper  from Hobby Lobby.. They were so cute.. I am
not finished with these..[waiting on it to warm up, so
I can paint my jar rings. eeeeeh]. I also decided to  do
a paint stick one too. Fun and Cute.
ps. Thank you Carolyn for  reminding me  where to find
the  instructions for the paint stick ornaments..  You are
where I first saw the ornaments.. They were so pretty on
your tree.

Confession time...
In Early December- 2015, I saw these adorable paint stick
ornaments.. I rushed out to Lowes to  buy the sticks and paint
to make them. Came home , was oh so sweet to hubby..
and got him to cut the sticks and drill holes in them.. He
got them done really quick [see, he knew I was in a hurry.
So, I could get them on the tree...Welllllllll.. I procrastinated.
I painted them. [the first step for me, Kenny had done the
other steps.]  I put them in a basket, out of sight and out
of mind.. Forgot them......... oh no.
I pulled them out , determined to  finish them up in 2017..
I couldn't find the blog  of the lady  who gave the
instructions.. [I had forgotten that Carolyn made them? --
old age for sure].   Then Carolyn emailed me with the blog
sight... [she is so sweet].
And i finally finished them... [A little too late for Christmas
2016...--- But you be looking for them to be shining
on my 2017 Christmas tree..

My prayer is that you all have a very blessed and Merry
Christmas..

Christmas Decor 2016

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our
Little House.... Thought I would share a few
                      snapshots with you.
NOTE: Click on photo, to see larger view of photos.

Red cabinet in Dining Room/Kitchen

Little bench with pillow and Christmas reading
materials.  See the cute  little train set under
the bench..Kenny bought this for me at a flea
market years ago.. Even though, it is mostly
blue, it  hangs with all the red.. ha

Kitchen Table
I had this wooden box, [picked up at Dirt Cheap,
for 25 cents]. I added some small ornaments and
pine cones. The place mats and candles were all
from last year.

Can you tell , I  REALLY like  the  red truck or car
with the Christmas tree atop it..  Can't resist buying
them, when I see it , in whatever form. The scent
warmer was a wal mart find this year.

Christmas tree...not a good photo, the light
was not right.. Will try to get a better one later.

Kitchen--  the little wall cut out shelving
unit.... All decked for Christmas.

Red cabinet in hallway..

Arched entry way in living room!
Old world santa is sitting on the post, just
a watching to see if your naughty or nice?

You GOTTA  believe in Santa...

I will share the outside decorating soon.
Hope you and your family are enjoying  the
pre-Christmas  fun.. Lots of  goodies [don't
worry about the calories...that will come in
January.smile], Hot Chocolate,  Christmas movies.
and
I know , you want to know? Is Judy using her
early Christmas present [the mixer]. Yes!!!
it is wonderful and TOO many sweets are entering
our  little kitchen..

Santa Claus Made an Early Visit

Santa Claus  [aka  Kenny]  Came Early

I have been using a  cheap hand mixer for years... [had a cheap
stand mixer years ago, but when it died, I never replaced it. Just
used the cheap hand mixer..

I have been admiring the  Kitchen aid Artisian mixer , for awhile..
All the pretty colors they come in.. OH my!!!   And of course,
the red one .. caught my eye for sure.

Santa decided it was time to  visit... He reasoned that , with all the
Christmas baking I was planning on doing.... He would visit early
and help me out.. now......... wasn't that a sweet Santa..

My new mixer.. I love it.. Cooking and Preparations
for Christmas are under way!!!

PS... Christmas decorations are done.. Will be sharing soon.
Hope you and your family have a blessed and wonderful
Christmas.

Christmas 2013

Christmas  was  wonderful. The kids and grandkids were home.
We had a lovely meal [I probably gained 10 pounds.eeeeh]
May God bless each of you with a wonderful New Year.

The  redone PJ's were a big  hit.. Callie  loved them.
And said , she hoped that any  pj's in the future,
would be too short, so she would get more
like this..[ I think all the grown girls wanted
some too.. ha]

Amy & Ashlee  modeling their  Duck Dynasty dresses.\
They made the  sweet Christmas banner ,while
here, and added to our decorations.. Such sweet
girls.

Kenny, our oldest grandchild, with his new Duck Dynasty game.

Emily and Kenny our 2 oldest  Grandchildren.
Emily will be 15 in May and Kenny will be
15 in April.. Our sweet babies are growing up
on us..

Papa is having fun with his Best Buddy. She
just gave him a  heated blanket for his recliner.
He is wearing the  label on his head.. [What
he wouldn't do for this  girl... She most
definitely has him wrapped around
that little finger]

Christmas is all cleaned up, the tree and decorations are
packed away again, waiting on another year. SO ,
now it is time to get the sewing machine back out.
I will be posting a sewing  post, real soon..

Happy New  Year to each of you.

Christmas Gifts are Wrapped/Sewing Machine is Put Away

Christmas  Presents are all wrapped and under
the tree, Just waiting for those Grandchildren
                                               & Children to arrive.

Candy & Cookies and Special Treats are
Beginning to smell   in the house.. Christmas
                                              is on it's way.

The sewing machine is put away  , until Christmas
holidays are over. The last of the Christmas
                                              presents are made.

Amy & Ashlee my twin granddaughters  love the
Duck Dynasty show. I found this Duck Dynasty
fabric the other day, I just knew I had to make them
 quick little jumper.
[it has ducks all over it, and  the words "Duck
 Dynasty" all over].

I added brown piping between the yoke and skirt
part of the dress.  Embroidered the  words
"Duck Dynasty Girl".. I hope they like them.

Christmas tree is up and  presents are wrapped!!!
Now Santa is watching over the tree [just for a
little while- Then he will move on to the
Coke Museum...] For you that don't know,
Kenny is  a big coke collector.. and has a big
shop full of coke stuff. I found this display for
him.. He wanted to sit it in the Living room
and admire it.. But it has to be taken
away , before the hustle and bustle
of children playing /running /jumping
and ENJOYING  Christmas..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you.!!

Sewing Christmas Gifts

                                                         Sewing  In November

I have  not done any sewing for me in November,I
have been sewing some Christmas gifts. And lots and
lots of costumes for different Churches and Schools.
I didn't post photos of the costumes...I have done
that in the past..and they all look alike.ha.

Cross Pillow cover.. Made from an off white linen fabric,
for a friend of mine.. She just built a new house, and
has an antique church pew in her entry way.. She
wanted a pillow cover, with  a cross on it.. Hope
she likes it!!

Christmas pocket t-shirts ..

Remember , the snowmen dresses that I made for
my friend's daughters.. Well, I had some scrap
fabric left.. and thought I would do them a
matching purse for Christmas.

Log Cabin Quilt block
I made 2 of these for my sister.. I am going to make them into
pillow covers.

Sorry for the bad photo..
Young fellow at my post office just had twin girls.
So I made the mama a pocket t-shirt with the yellow
gingham check. Appliqued the foot prints, and put
the girls initials inside the feet prints. The dresses
are yellow check with navy check trimming and ties.
I did the same applique as Mama's. This was fun
to make.

RTW scarf, that  embroidered Initials  on ,
for Cindy [my daughter]

Christmas Skirt for a special little girl!!

Hunting theme Christmas stocking ornaments..
now.. I couldn't leave Kenny out.. Yes...... I
went and bought a cheap tree for the hunting
cabin, and make  these stockings and   I also
made some pine cone ornaments for it.

I have been super busy sewing.. Just no garments for me..
Hopefully, I will make a Christmas outfit before
December is over???

Happy sewing to each of you..

Emily's Chair-- [That once belonged to her mom]

Old,old Kitchen Chair
Painted black
Adding new batting [the old was in bad shape]
Embroidering Her Intital
Now what 13 yr old girl do you know, that doesn't
want everything with an inital?
Covering the chair  bottom with :
[Black/white polka dots and of course hot pink]
FInished Chair
[ps  I added pink polka dots to each of the
wood peices on back of the chair. Forgot to
get new photos ? sorry]

This chair was hanging out in the barn. [Kenny never
throws anything away . I am so proud of that. ]. I spray
painted this chair white when Cindy [our daughter] was
9 yrs old.  And put a holly hobbie doll fabric on it.
Over the years, it got tossed out..

When Shopping with Emily and Cindy a  year ago,
Emily saw a chair with a black /white zebra
seat.It had the intital seat. She really wanted
it, but mom said no , to the price. I decided
it would be a great Christmas present.. She
was really excited over the chair, and loved
that it was orignally done for her mom.

Now, I wonder , will this chair last  in a barn
some 25-30 years for her little  girl??
