SImplicity 5942

Simplicity 5942 - Vintage Pattern

I have had this dress made since the end of July, but couldn't get
it  photographed or blogged..whew!!
NOTE: click on the photos, to enlarge, You will be able to see close up..

Simplicity 5942
Gingham check with cherries  fabric  from stash.
I made the little bow...but, it just didn't work for me..
[too old.ha] The dress is comfortable, and  wears well.
I had worn it all day , when this photo was taken..So,
it looks wrinkled and unkept..

This dress was for my MAGAM challenge. for July.
I did complete it in July..
Fabric and pattern came from my stash. The only thing.
I purchased was the zipper.  The belt was borrowed from
another dress.

Vintage Simplicity 5259

Simplicity 5259
Black/white daisy print fabric [from stash]
white eyelet for sleeves [from stash]

Close up of fabric used.

I  used a vintage pattern that I had used previously.. therefore,
the fitting was done for me.
I didn't have enough of the daisy fabric for the sleeves
so, I used white eyelet.
Don't  you think a yellow cardigan , when the  weather
gets chilly , will be pretty?

I used  4 1/2 yds  of fabric from my stash.

Simplicity 5482
Nautical Childrens Print Fabric from Jo Anns Fabric

Bias Tape  made from fabric remanants

This is my second blouse from this pattern. It was so easy to make
and so cool to wear. [Folks ...we have had one  HOT/ HUMID summer
here in Ms.] I found this cute little nautical fabric..It has tiny little sailor
boys all over it, and anchors.. So cute.
                                 http://sewblessedmaw.blogspot.com/--   see the fabric here

Merry Christmas was so sweet to stand in for me, for these
photos. I have had this blouse made for a couple weeks, just
waiting on photos..  But ...........[as usual things don't go as
planned].  I had a pre cancerous spot taken off my face [of
all places], trying to wait for it to heal. Then this ole asthma
hit me, and PREDISONE.... is not a  nice medicine to take
while trying to do photos.lol [it swells your face  up]. So.
Merry Christmas was a sweetheart and stood in for me..
BTY...I am wearing this top today with a pair of denim
shorts. It is is super comfortable and I like it better than
the first one. I cut down the size a little and it has a better
                                fit.

Vintage Pattern /Fabric

Vintage patterns I found on Ebay
[there were 4 more in this lot,but
my photo didn't show up, will post later]

Crepe  fabric
This is what happens , when Judy is home -- sick with a virus...she  visits Ebay.lol

Last week, I had a looooooooooooog lasting virus..  I just didn't feel like doing
anything. So, I foud myself reading my favorite blogs, finding new blogs and
then roaming around ebay..  I found this adorable lot of vintage patterns.
I bidded on them, but didn't really expect to win them.. I put the amount
that I was willing to pay and {intended} to walk away. Keep in mind,
that darn virus was making me  do things,ha.. Someone was just a
raising the bids up.. Now....... I just couldn't let that happen, I had been
on that sight admiring these patterns too long!!!!!
Well.............They came home to me... And I love them..

ps.. The orangey/apricot crepe fabric was  on sale, and I couldn't resist it.
