small table runner--One end has a
machine embroidered present

The other end has a machine embroidered
stocking.

I added Red gingham check ribbon to
each end.. [Nothing says Christmas like
red checks!!!] -and my old antique milk
bottle holding  pretty  red/white/green
paper straws..

Pillow wraps...[Have you seen these floating
around Pintrest and Etsy?] I doubled this

to change the looks.. Just slip it on a matching
throw pillow.. so cute...

Inside is red/white/green mini stripe.

Christmas Gifts are Wrapped/Sewing Machine is Put Away

Christmas  Presents are all wrapped and under
the tree, Just waiting for those Grandchildren
                                               & Children to arrive.

Candy & Cookies and Special Treats are
Beginning to smell   in the house.. Christmas
                                              is on it's way.

The sewing machine is put away  , until Christmas
holidays are over. The last of the Christmas
                                              presents are made.

Amy & Ashlee my twin granddaughters  love the
Duck Dynasty show. I found this Duck Dynasty
fabric the other day, I just knew I had to make them
 quick little jumper.
[it has ducks all over it, and  the words "Duck
 Dynasty" all over].

I added brown piping between the yoke and skirt
part of the dress.  Embroidered the  words
"Duck Dynasty Girl".. I hope they like them.

Christmas tree is up and  presents are wrapped!!!
Now Santa is watching over the tree [just for a
little while- Then he will move on to the
Coke Museum...] For you that don't know,
Kenny is  a big coke collector.. and has a big
shop full of coke stuff. I found this display for
him.. He wanted to sit it in the Living room
and admire it.. But it has to be taken
away , before the hustle and bustle
of children playing /running /jumping
and ENJOYING  Christmas..

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to each of you.!!

Sewing Christmas Gifts

                                                         Sewing  In November

I have  not done any sewing for me in November,I
have been sewing some Christmas gifts. And lots and
lots of costumes for different Churches and Schools.
I didn't post photos of the costumes...I have done
that in the past..and they all look alike.ha.

Cross Pillow cover.. Made from an off white linen fabric,
for a friend of mine.. She just built a new house, and
has an antique church pew in her entry way.. She
wanted a pillow cover, with  a cross on it.. Hope
she likes it!!

Christmas pocket t-shirts ..

Remember , the snowmen dresses that I made for
my friend's daughters.. Well, I had some scrap
fabric left.. and thought I would do them a
matching purse for Christmas.

Log Cabin Quilt block
I made 2 of these for my sister.. I am going to make them into
pillow covers.

Sorry for the bad photo..
Young fellow at my post office just had twin girls.
So I made the mama a pocket t-shirt with the yellow
gingham check. Appliqued the foot prints, and put
the girls initials inside the feet prints. The dresses
are yellow check with navy check trimming and ties.
I did the same applique as Mama's. This was fun
to make.

RTW scarf, that  embroidered Initials  on ,
for Cindy [my daughter]

Christmas Skirt for a special little girl!!

Hunting theme Christmas stocking ornaments..
now.. I couldn't leave Kenny out.. Yes...... I
went and bought a cheap tree for the hunting
cabin, and make  these stockings and   I also
made some pine cone ornaments for it.

I have been super busy sewing.. Just no garments for me..
Hopefully, I will make a Christmas outfit before
December is over???

Happy sewing to each of you..

Sewing Memories--- Wizard Citation Sewing Machine

Wizard Citation Sewing Machine from the early 70's

Singer  Alter & Fit  Booklet from the 60's

I found this little  Singer booklet on ebay , last week.
When it arrived in my mail box.. I was amazed at how
well  written it was. And some of the same basic rules
of  altering ,as we use today.

This  made me think of my sewing. I took Home Ec in school, as
all girls did back then [in the late 60's]. I loved it.
Kenny and I married as young kids. I wanted to sew,
so the first year we were married, he bought me this
sewing machine at Western Auto..
They are not made like this any more.. All metal parts.
Very basic machine..None of the thrills of  the modern
day machine. I sewed on this machine for  25 years.
And , if I remember correctly... it only went to the shop
for minor repairs twice. It still sews to this day.

I had put it away , but just could not part with it.. It sewed my
daughters wedding dress, My daughter in law's wedding dress.
And many dresses for Cindy growing up.  I needed a belt
for it, and could no longer find  them in the fabric shops.
I found one on ebay.  I put it on and  sewed a little on
it. Brought back such fond memories..

Goodie Bag for 100th Birthday Gift

Goodie  Birthday Bag

Kenny teaches Sunday School at our local Nursing Home.
One of the  very sweet ladies  turned 100 on the 22nd
of  August.. She is amazing.. She gets around
really well.. And kept her own house, until she was 98.
Every Sunday, she would tell me, " I  will be
100 years old!! She is very proud for this . I  knew I
had to do something for her.
 SO
I  decided to sew her up a birthday goodie bag. I embroidered
a bible scripture,  Her name, and Happy 100th Birthday.
I filled it with  kleenex, lotions,  lip gloss, and warm
fuzzy socks.

She was very excited when I give it to her.. and the other
elderly ladies began to tell me , when their birthdays were.
I think I will be making more goodie bags.ha

Such an enjoyable sew. And I used 1/2 yd fabric
from my stash.
