Our Life Has Changed.... Sorry for my Lack of Post

We have moved into our "New" old house. We are getting
settled.  There is still lots to get done, such as --- waiting on
the carport  to be brought out [nope , the old house does
not have an attached carport, and I REALLY miss this].

Waiting on the storm shelter to be put in..

We moved into a smaller house [2 bedroom].. So . fitting
everything , has been a challenge. We bought a storage
unit, so this past week, we took LOTS of stuff , and put
in there..Such as, seasonal clothes,  holiday stuff,etc..This
really helped.

We have been working on the  house for a year . We still need
to finish the new siding on the outside [parts of it or done]. Need
new windows .. All  of this will get done eventually, as
time permits.

I have done very little sewing. But, hope to get back to it,
real soon. I did make my grandaughters   a few summer
skirts..[will post photos of them soon]

I will be posting rooms in the house, and show you some
before and after9s..

Hope you all have been doing well.. Missed you.. So sorry,
I  did not post for such a lengthy time.  Hope your
having a nice summer.

Little Cabin Vacation Turns into Sewing Costumes

Kenny and I , decided to take a little  mini vacation.. Stay a few days at his
Camp house.  He was going to work on  one of the old sheds out there,
and go hunting on Monday. I was going to bring my sewing machine, and
work on me some fall tunics.. All the plans were made.  but--- plans
do change.ha

I got a request from a school in VA, To make some costumes for their
church school program. [For those of you , who know me, I do this
each year for churches and schools. Such  a blessing for me.-[- They pay
for my fabrics and shipping]

I completed 4 costumes while on our mini vacation.

Plus, I did a tunic muslin for a new pattern. And I have one cut out and
ready to sew. Will show photos soon.

We had a good time.. The weather was beautiful. We rode  the 4-wheeler.
Went on lots of nature trail  walks. Cooked out and snacked ---way tooo
much!!!   Just plain ole fun!!!

Kenny's Camp House - Before & After--Work in Progress

http://sewblessedmaw.blogspot.com/2013/06/kennys-deer-camp-is-taking-sewing-time.html
Check out the before photos.. We have made some progress... but a lot of work still to come!!

Front of the house.. [Still has to have the underpinning
put around the house.
But.. don't you girls know, I am enjoying that swing?

Front porch view

Kenny's fruit orchard.. has provided us with lots of fresh fruit.

Garden.. my camera didn't pick up, just how big this garden is.
Lots of veggies

Two fig bushes...loaded with figs
Fig preserves are coming!!!

Rose of Sharon Bush

This on the side of the driveway , leading up to the house.
There are 4-5 white and purple ones leading up
the driveway. They were small and almost
dead when Kenny got this place.. But, he has
brought them back .. So pretty, when you
drive up.

This photo , is really posted for memories for us..
Our grandson would kill me, if he saw it posted.ha

[When he was 2 yrs old, we took him and our granddaughter
on vacation with us.. Our room was on the 2nd floor. while
we were bringing up luggage, Kenny looked over and
saw Little Kenny "peein"  off the balcony..  He screamed
at him, "no Kenny, Don't do that!"  we could just
imagine the people on the first floor, walking out
about that time, and getting  "wet", lol
We saw this sign, and just had to buy it!!!

Back of house-- steps have to be painted.. I ran out of gray paint!
New screen has to be installed on the porch. [when finished,
won't this be a nice place to sit and eat , in the evening?] Such
a pretty view, from here too.

One of the many trails found on this property. Kenny has
cleared a lot of them.. We love walking them or riding
the 4-wheeler.

Now.. the grandkids can't be left out..  Here is there favorite,
the tire swing! To the left, is a basket ball goal...There's
lots for them to do here.

Kenny's Deer Camp is taking the Sewing Time

     Why is Judy  not Sewing???
She  is painting/ painting, and doing some more painting!!

Kenny has always dreamed of owning some land  for deer hunting,
for camping out,  for family and friends to enjoy.. Once he retired,
he found that dream.... 54 acres with an "old/old"  home place. It has
seen better days.. But, oh how I wonder ,what those walls and  old
buildings could tell us??? Last year we painted the inside.. so this
year.. we are  attempting to paint the outside..

Here are some "before" photos.. Be on the lookout  for some "after"
photos real soon!!! [And then maybe, my stash busting sewing can
resume, ha]

Now Kenny-- sitting with your feet propped up on
the railings...will not get this house fixed? haha

When I saw this place for the fist time, My thoughts were,
Oh No!!! we can NOT do anything with this.lol

Back View.. The pretty iris are blooming ..They don't
know, they have had no care.. for many a year.

Big old oak tree at the side of the house.. It
now holds a tire swing for the grandkids.
Do you remember ,having a tire swing when
 you were young? So fun!!!

Kenny's Old Tractor... Old ...but getting the work done..
[I think he is  enjoying playing ,ha]

Two old buildings in the back , to hold his equipment [aka junk]
See the  tree by the building that looks like the limbs
are cut off?  It is a pecan tree, Kenny grafted it with
good pecans this year. The grafts are growing well,
and he is really proud of them.

This is on the other side of the house... In front of a big garden
that is now planted and doing beautifully.. [will have to
post photo of that next time]  Aren't these lily pretty?
Wonder what little old lady tended these? NO telling
how long ,they have been here.

climbing roses  I found growing  next to a hill side. So pretty.

Side  view... oooooh...does it need help!!!

New Paint Job on the way...  Post soon.
