Outside Living... Working on the Yard

Front Porch...  We  spend a lot of time on
the porch.. We eat lunch most days, and  my
friends,  we take A lot  of breaks here.smile

NOTE...  Click on the photos , to see a larger/
more clear view.

The  cute bird pillows came from Walmart.
They put them on clearance for $3. I brought
3 home with me.

This is  at our driveway, Kenny put the trellis
up for me, and bought this climbing vine
to go on it. They yucca sticker plant was already
there, it is just fixing to bloom white. I think
the white blooms will be a good contrast to the
red. The pump does not work, but a family
treasure , that goes with us ,wherever we go.
I planted the red vinca and ivy pot, to bring
in color at the driveway.

Sod is being layed..  We are no where near through. eeeh
This has been some kind of work.. But this patch in
front of the porch, is already running.. YEA!!

Side of house... the shrubs and flowers are doing well.
As you can see, haven't got  sod laid here yet..
Slowly but surely..

We have a row of these blooming shrub/trees
going down the side of the driveway. White with
red centers.

The Cute little gardening shed..[Kenny redid it, it
was falling in.] After I painted it ..[red of course, ha]
I planted hosta and some wire deco to the walls.

Hope you are all enjoying your summer.. And
staying as cool as possible.

Kitchen-- Slowly Getting It Done.. Making Kitchen Curtains

Kitchen  -- The  small opening [was a small side porch, that
we closed in.. It houses my upright freezer. It has shelves
around it, that holds kitchen things. The extended shelf
that you see..still needs painting.. Slowly..it will get
done...smile
ps - sorry about the  cans of paint in the corner.. It too,
is waiting to paint the outside  [if the new siding ever
gets done? ha]
NOTE: click on photos to see enlarged photo

Dining area... The arch way comes off the big hall.
The door you see, is a small broom closet ..It too, has
shelves on one wall. It holds the extra paper towels,
cleaning supplies.

Kitchen.. Sorry I didnt get  photos of the cabinets..
When I downloaded my photos,  that one was too
blury to see. Anyway, I make the  curtains. I looked
everywhere for some teal/red curtains.. Never found any,
so  I made these. Simple..

How about some Chocolate chip/Pecan cookies?  and we will
drink  Diet Coke to offset------ all the calories. smile!!

Have a blessed day..

When You Love to Sew...and Loose Your Sewing Room...what do you do?

Sewing Nook in the Extra Bed Room
This is an OLD house..This bedroom had this
cut out in the corner..No one was sure what it
was for??  But.......... It was transformed into a
sewing nook..  My two little sewing tables fit
perfectly in that spot.Kenny built  the shelves
above  to hold books, patterns, and some accessories.
The wall next to it,  was just the right length  to
put my embroidery machine table and a book
case. The book case holds baskets for my sewing
stuff [zippers, buttons, elastic.. etc]

NOTE: click on photos to enlarge.. Shows much clearer.

This is the rest of the bedroom.. It's not
like having my big sewing room.. But.. when space is
limited... you find the little nooks work quiet well.smile!!

Fabric Stash... as you know, I have TOO  MUCH fabric..
When we made the decision, to make this house move.
I knew , I did not have room for my fabric stash..So,
I gave lots of it away.. I donated lots to Salvation army. I couldn't
bring myself to part with  the rest.. ha  The hall in this house,
has  a very wide/long hall. I used it  wisely.. Kenny built
a really big book shelf to hold my fabrics. [Isn't he sweet?]
I found the black/white fabric totes for $3 each. They fit
perfectly in the shelves. Plus I had a few extra shelves
to hold books ,etc.  PS---I will be doing post of  the rest of
the hall and how I used it...coming soon.

I will be doing post of the rest of our "little old house". Lots of work has been done...and there is lots of work to come.  I will
be sharing with you... the before's and the afters..

Happy Memorial Day to you and your family..

Lots of work had been done.. And lots
more to  be done...Just wanted to show you what we
have been up to.
My house.. We have lived here for  over 20 yrs. I love this house. We have it for sale, and when it sales , we will
move to the "old house".
But. Kenny bought 53 acres when he retired.. It has a fruit
orchard,  Beautiful old trees, and the best garden , we have ever had. And he loves it.

We have done LOTS of work  on the old house and  have lots
more to do. I will share some  photos of the inside later.
