Sewing Projects in Process

Adding lace pocket and  lace around hem line, of
some cute stripe RTW  t-shirts for Emily & Callie.
I saw these shirts in the mall, they were expensive.
So, I found some cute tees, bought some lace
at Hancock's [with my 40% off coupon].
Simple summer top for me.. Will be doing view A.
I have had this strawberry fabric in my stash for awhile.
Not sure where I got it? It is a cotton with a small
amount of  stretch. This will be a loose fitting
top. Nice and cool for summer.

While I was doing the lace tees for the girls, I decided
to make myself one.. [Didn't have enough lace to
go around the hem line, so  I just got a pocket..]

Happy Sewing, and hope you all have a blessed week.

Anniversary [yes..on April Fool's Day]

43 rd  Anniversary

Today is Kenny and my , 43rd anniversary..  Where
did all those years go? It seems only yesterday , that
those two young folks said, " I do".

Kenny is one of the kindest and most honest men ,you
will ever meet. I admire him and always have. He is
a wonderful  Christian man that loves God and loves his
family. He is funny , and keeps me laughing.[And yes,
he can make me mad too.lol] He is always there,
when I need a pick me up.. and he is always their
to defend me [He thinks I am always right.ha]

We were very young.. I was 171/2 yrs old, and he was
19 yrs old. [Yes..we were too young!!! ha]And we had a
hard time, especially during the  early years.. Raising 2
kids, and both of us returning to school and getting
our  college education. But.. you can do it, with God's
help.

Someone ask me," would you do it again?" Yes. I would!!  I
could look the world over, and never find a better husband
or father for my kids or  grandfather for my grandkids.

Today's Plans...
Kenny is working today at his camp house.. I am working
at home. But , we will celebrate later today.. We are going
out to eat. [and let me add... a couple days ago.. he came in
the house holding a big bunch of daffodils in his hand..He said,
" Happy Anniversary"... He knows , this is my favorite flower.
the warm temps were going away, with freezing temps
returning. He knew they would be gone , on our anniversary.
You see. He is so NICE.!!
Also..The night we got married, we were too poor to go
on a honey moon.. so we went to our newly rented apartment.
I had bought a cheap frozen lemon pie, and we eat it that night.
So each year.. I buy one of those pies.. They are special..even
though , not so tasty.ha

I love you Kenny ..  forever!

Twin Granddaughter's Dresses..

Ashlee Gail
Her dress is  orange /white polka dot, with white
lace trim and blue silk flowers .

Amy Grace..
Her dress is a bright sunshine yellow/white polka
dot.It has a white trim with blue silk flowers.

Dresses were made from a simple a-line dress
pattern. Has cute little sleeves and  lace trim.

Of course, I could not leave well enough alone..[That is
me for sure.ha]  I found these little hats, and thought the
girls would enjoy playing with them.. I could not find
a white one.. so I got blue hats, and added orange /white polka
dot ribbon and a a white /blue silk flower. I added the
blue flowers to the dress..to bring in some blue.

Amy's dress got the same treatment. I also got her
a matching purse and trimmed it out to match
the hat...
Note:  Ashlee told me,that she really didn't like purses..
[Figured you would wonder why she didn't get a purse.ha]

This was fun sewing.. I had the fabric in my stash.. So, only
bought the hats and purse.

I told about this make here.

Sewing in a Clean Sewing Room.. & A Wrap Dress in Progress

What do you do , when the sewing room
is in a total mess? You quit sewing, and
just think about  how much you need a
good spring cleaning!!  Then finally ....
one day, you do it!!!!

How nice it was to fold  each and every piece
of fabric.. I found stuff, I didn't know I had.ha

Love these blue wicker baskets. [found them a
local Dirt Cheap store for a round $3 a peice..]
Not only did I clean this book shelf, I organized
my sewing tools , accessories in the baskets, and
tagged the baskets with what was inside..[so,
I would be able to find stuff,ha]
Add caption

These 3  photos are of the wall cabinets, over my cutting table.

How nice to be able to see my cutting table..

My little sewing corner!!

Since getting my sewing room cleaned and organized,  I have
been sewing.. I finished the twins dresses [I posted about in last post]. Will share photos ,when I get some.. Will probably see them during spring break? I am now working on an Olivia Walton Wrap Dress.. [will be posting soon].  [It is now in Eva Girl's Etsy Shop, YEA..-I will posting about that ,and the link real soon.]

Must tell you what my "sweet" hubby said about this big cleaning
job. I had pulled all the fabric off the shelves and out of the cabinets.. and it was a Big mess.. he said," Oh Lord!!  I wouldn't
do that..." I ask why? "Because, you will just go in there and mess it up again! Why do all that work?"   Now...what do you say to that?
I think I  "may have" threw a bag of cotton or something at him.ha
But.. I really knew............. He was telling the truth.hahaha

New post of my dress and the girls dresses soon......

Just a little Sewing

Simple gowns for my Sister..One knit
and one cotton blend..[My sister is tiny,
and she likes the simple t-shirt gowns.. The
one size fits all..doesn't work for her.].She
ask me to make her a couple. They were
so simple and quick.. No pattern, I just
traced around and old one, and made
the pattern.

My mom lives with her.. SO , of course, I had
to make her one too..

Cheer bows for  Emily and Callie.

More cheer bows.

Juvenile Epsilpesy bow for Callie,
She won the Science Fair at her school,
and will be going to state. She did her
project on this terrible disease of children.
And , knowing first hand the complications
of it, has been very hard for her. But, she
loved the bow, and  the purple ribbon
stands for it.. She was really cute in her
matching  outfit.. Hugs for my sweet Callie.

Another cheer bow..[can you tell I got some new
fonts and wanted to play?

Embroidered pocket tee for  Emily.
Callie had a new tee too..but I can't find
the  photo?? [I guess the camera eat it.ha]
bty- the embroidered letter did match the
shirt, not sure what happened with the
photo color?

Turtle Applique T-shirts for Little Girls Basketball Team [Of couse it has to be Pink!!!]

Turtle's Basketball Shirts
My friend, emailed me and ask if I could
find some pink turtle fabric to make shirts
for the 7/8 yr old girls that she coached
basketball?? I searched everywhere... but no
pink turtles.  So, suggested, that I applique
a turtle on the pocket.. She loved the idea.
And so did the girls..

I had to make 10 of these.. Such fun..
You see the team is named Turtles.. and
of course, each little girl WANTED the shirt
to be pink.. of course the Turtle's Ruled the
court..thus their name...

Christmas Cactus
Showed its beauty, just in time for  Christmas
holiday visitors.

January has been a really cold/dreary weather month..
[Oh how I am ready for sunny spring to arrive.ha]
But this pretty little peach cactus  decided to bloom.
God brings  sunshine in all kinds of ways.

January's MAGAM Challenge Completed

Singers Perfect Plus  Book  by Kathleen Cheetham
I made the  simple button up Blouse in this book.

I used this pattern.

Blouse pattern was fantastic.. The fit was good, The
pattern is made for a petite person [5 ft 2 in]. I am
not , I am 5 ft 7. So, I had to lengthen both top
and sleeves. Next time, I will  add another inch
to sleeves.

I made the blouse from a cotton with  stretch.. Really
comfortable fabric, that was in my stash!  yea!!!
Sorry the photo is not very good.. I have been sick for
awhile, and still not  up to par..

I also, have another vintage blouse  that I sewed this
month.. Just need to get a photo..whew..  I hate photos.ha

Happy sewing  ..

Sewing ..Blouse Pattern from Singer Perfect Plus book- Plus--Taking Craftsy Classes

I am  taking 2 fitting classes from Craftsy. Both are by  Kathleen Cheetham.
Adjust a bust   and  Adjust back/neck.  I will do another blog post
about these classes later. But now...let's get to Sewing for Judy.. I am
excited!!

I have blogged about this book some time ago. I really like the author
Kathleen Cheetham's approach to fitting. This book came with
4 changeable patterns. I am making a button up blouse.

This is the blouse , I will be making. It is called, "shapely blouse"
It is fitted with front and back darts. It is button up, and  has
either rounded/square or no collar versions. I will be doing
the rounded collar one, With long sleeves. This will be a  good
basic blouse , and I can see  lots of rotation with it.
Sorry, I forgot to take photo of the fabric I am using. I have
already cut it out, and am now in the sewing process.

I have lots of  sewing plans for me.. I am just looking forward to
spring sewing.. [I know/I know... I must  force myself to realize
it is NOT  spring.. definitely  WINTER.. eeeeh it is 8 degrees today!!]

This will be for my MAGAM  January Challenge. I had  stated that
I would challenge myself to  a pair of pants.. But...  my plans changed.
I  hope to add them either the end of the month, or February. Our goal
for January MAGAM was something new to you, or an Indie pattern
company. This pattern is an indie pattern company, and new to me..

Happy sewing..

Sewing 2014-- Some fun..some mess ups...some Blessings..

I would like to say thank you to each of my followers
in 2014. I read every message and  love your feedback.
I  have not sewed a lot for myself this year..but, thought
I would share a few makes with you.

http://sewblessedmaw.blogspot.com/2014/09/elsa-from-frozen-costume-for-emily-plus.html
Emily's [granddaughter] Frozen costume,  I would have to say, was the "most work".. But, I think the most appreciated/fun..She loved it .So, I totally enjoyed making her happy..[even all the glitter. lol]

                          Lots of Children's Clothes

 ;

I made lots of  dresses/skirts and monogrammed t-shirts
for  the kids.. All was fun and sweet. Some for my grandchildren,
some for friend's kids.

This chambray  top [grainline  scout tee  pattern]was made during the summer. I have worn it so much.. Love the lace inset yoke.

Christmas " Happy" for a special friend!!

Easter dresses for Emily and Callie. These were very time
consuming,  getting the fitting issues done.. But, the girls
were very happy on Easter. The dresses looked so good
on them.. Such  a special sew.

Amy [twin granddaughter]. Made her costume for a play at school. She got sick , and didn't get to use it. SO sad..She
was very disappointed. This was one costume of approximately
150 this year.

Many/many  costumes for Churches and Schools all over
the world.  This sewing was such a blessing to me. God is awsome!!  and I feel so blessed  to  be able to do this ministry.

2014 was not  a big sewing year for me.. I  really didn't need anything,  But 2015, I hope to share lots of Me sewing.ha
Happy New Year..
