Happy New Years- Goals for 2013

New Years 2013

I would like to say thank you to each and every person who
has visited this blog. I apprecaite each one of you. I started
this blog in 2011, I had found Mena's Sew Weekly Blog
and was so encouraged that she had made a  dress
a week in 2010. I had sewed for 35 yrs . But, mostly
sewed for my daughter and other children. So fun!! But,
she encourgaged me to sew more for "me". I  wanted
to start a blog, to keep up with the things I sewed. It has
opened  up the doors to  so many friendships , all over
the world. And to that, I am so thankful.  I  am not
computer savy [at all!!], I  am not a photographer
and definitely not photogenic!! lol
But ,even with all this.. And  the lack of a savy
blog, you have ALL supported me, THANK YOU
SO MUCH!

My sewing Goals for 2013 are

#1- Use my stash, and buy less fabric

#2-  I want to venture into sewing with knits
..[Can  you believe, I am scared of knits? ha].

#3- Improve my sewing, learn new techniques
Take some sewing classes.

But most of all.. I want to remember that, sewing is a hobby, it
is not to stress us out.. But , just to enjoy.. No stress of
finishing a garment by a certain date.. Or having to make
a certain number of garments. Or even having to make
a certain kind of garment.. Just enjoy!!

  1. It is great to have some goals for 2013 isn't it? I need to get rid of some of my stash too, that is one of my goals as well. I have bought the Bombshell class on Craftsy, I believe most of the Craftsy courses are pretty good. Happy sewing to you for 2013, looking forward to seeing what you make.

  7. Good Morning, Judy, and Happy New Year! I love your goals...don't we all need to use up our "stash"...but it is just so tempting to "pick up" a little of that adorable print when we are at the fabric store! I have quite a collection of vintage sheets that I want to use up this year...my fabric shelf is overflowing! I'm thinking of some quilts...great indoor activity now that we have all this snow!

Give Kenny a hug from us...wishing you both a most joyous New Year's Day!

    Love,
    Laura

    1. Hi Laura,
Happy New years to you and your family too. My prayers are with you.
Do you know what Laura, I think the reason I have such a "big" fabric stash is; I wonder into a fabric dept. and all those pretty little prints just pop out..And I HAVE to go home with something, lol.
I agree , snow on the ground and the fire going, sounds like quilting time.. [just add a cup of hot chocolate with marsmellows.ha]
      Hugs to you both..

  9. One of the things I loved about sewing my knit top was that I didn't have to do any adjustments. Woo Hoo!!!! The fabric is so forgiving.
