Revised Grainline Scout Tee

                                                    Revised Grainline Scout Tee

When you plan a simple sew [that you have
sewed before], that turns into.....a  long
lasting sew... DO you wonder why???

                            WELL----
It's not the pattern, it's not the revised
ideas, it's not your sweet friend [Cathe]
that sent you this  "sweet, fast, simple sew"

                            IT  IS ----

Your's Truly.. hahahaha  You see, I cut out this
shirt , in  a really cute red fabric.. When I
went to cut  my little v in it,  I was too  set
on the simple part, and I didn't measure well.
I cut the  v off center.. It looked really dumb.
I used the last little bit of the fabric.. so
no re-cutting the front.  I was ready to set this
sewing tee aside.. But my friend, Cathe, finished
her beautiful shirt up and after seeing how pretty,
it was, I just had to finish mine. check her blog
             to see her beautiful tee.

BTW-- Neither of us knew, that  we would both end up doing
                                          a floral blue  fabric.ha

Don't you just love this rustic old
building? It is at Kenny's camp house.
A fun day /night , camping out with
our grandson, Kenny.

Wish you could see the cute cuffs on the sleeves.
Nice loose fitting , comfortable shirt.. Feel
really bad, that I wanted to cuss it.ha

Grainline Scout Tee [revised]
Sewing from stash.. yea.. Both
the messed up red one, and this one
came from my stash..

  8. yes, we all have those poorly thought out sewing moments- that teaches us again for a little while, until we need the lesson again...

  11. Judy, I love your scout. The lace yoke is perfect! I like the length of your v too. It fits nicely and looks wonderful on you! Oh yes I agree, our fabric is so alike! You know what they say, great minds think alike, and apparently stumble over the same issues!

I loved working on this with you, so fun! A little like our time in sew weekly!

And the cabin grounds are amazing, rustic and lovely. I too would spend a ton of time out there. It looks like all kinds of fun adventures to be had. Love the wooden exterior wall, that is really lovely, and the perfect backdrop!

  13. Smashing shirt! Now you match my newly painted doors. Ha!
Actually spent the better part of 2 days copying a jeans skirt to make a simple tan one. Just traced around it, and off I went. Yikes! But did get it done today amidst the errands to get a zipper and make a rhubarb custard kuchen. Yum.
Have fun with the 'boys'. Looking forward to Fathers Day!

  15. Judy, thanks for your comments on my blog. Your blog looks really fun! Those Easter dresses you did look gorgeous!! I love to sew too, but I rarely get around to it. I finally made my little guy a quilt this year but that's about all I've done in ages. I should hire you to make me something. ( :
