Happy Thanksgiving to Each of You

How are your preparations going? I had a sweet friend
email me, and she ask the question?  Wonder will the
turkey be thawed??? hummmm,  So many prepartions
to get done before the special day arrives..
Note...  I will be cooking , and taking food to my daughter's
house..We have our house up for sale, and it is easier
to move the mess/crowd to her bigger house.lol

Here is my list:

Menu---Turkey and Dressing
Gravy
Sweet potato  Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Cranberry sauce
Deviled Eggs
Sister Shubert Rolls
Pecan pies x 2
Pumpkin pie
Daughter is doing chocolate cake for the kiddos.

Turkey is out of the freezer , in the refrigerator [Deedy,
it is hard as a rock, I do , wonder....will it be thawed?ha]
Corn bread [for dressing] is cooked and in the freezer.
Onions/celery needs to be chopped.

Shopping list has been bought.  [no last minute runs to the
store!!!!!!!!!!!]

Tuesday-- I will clean the house, mop, clean bathrooms, etc.
Wednesday-   I will start the baking ..[son and family
will be here that day and spend the night... I will put
on a big pot of chili in the crockpot for supper]

All in all, it is coming together.. But most important of all
is to remember,  God gives us so much to be thankful for.
Keeping us all safe and in His loving  hands is awesome!!

Pray you all have a blessed Thanksgiving..

  2. I don't do Thanksgiving, because in 2009, my husband told me he wanted a divorce just a few days earlier. I was sitting at the Thanksgiving table unable to stop crying. I'm thankful every day, and I don't like turkey. I hope you have a great holiday.

    1. Danielle, i am so sorry.. These things are so hard, and how sad that ex-husband would do such a thing on a holiday... My son loves turkey[his favorite] my daughter loves ham... So, we do the food of choice for each at that holiday,ha.. They are grown and still tease each other, because "today" is my turn..lol Hope you and Annalise do something else fun and just be Thankful to have each other.Hugs.

    2. I felt a lot better 5 or 6 days later when it was payday and I realized it was all mine. I didn't have to give him any of it.

  5. What a lot of cooking and cleaning (I don't like either!). Still, it will be worth it all on the day when you say everyone's faces. Happy thanksgiving - we do not celebrate that here, as it is a U.S. tradition.

  7. Oooh out that turkey out on the bench to thaw, Judy! Last year I left mine in the fridge for four days and it was still frozen. Still a good rinse in cold tap water sorted it. I'm taking this year's out of the fridge tonight as I have to dress it tomorrow - technically it is Thanksgiving here today but as it is not a holiday in NZ we host a big dinner for heaps of our fabulous american firends on the Sunday after. Have a wonderful day with your family xoxo
