Skirts/Tees for the Twins [and a few other sewing projects -completed]

Ashlee Gail

I made the girls a  monogrammed  pocket
for a RTW t-shirt. I had lots of  chevron fabric
left, so I make them  a simple a-line skirt.
They both like them, they said,  they look
like big girls.ha

Amy Grace

Disney princess pillowcase dress for Elly.

I was asked to make this Doc McStuffin
a-line dress for a little girl. It was super easy
to make.  It has one button in the back..  I
embroidered "Doc McStuffin" on
the yoke.. This little girl  LOVES this cartoon.

When my life settles again, I have lots of sewing
for me, planned. Happy sewing to each of you,
and again thanks for your prayers for  Callie.
Will update when we know something.

Christmas Pillowcases... so fun to make

Set of Pillowcases for a  very special friend!
Always looking for places to embroider ..What  fun!

I decided to make these pillowcases in a fun Christmas
print fabric.. Then added a white border [so the embroidery
work would show up]. I made the bias tape from
a red/white stripe fabric for a contrast to the fabric.
They were so fun to make , and now they are in
the mail to my friend. I also, made one of the sweet
little Christmas trees to adorn the package..[thank
you Laura for teaching me this!! so easy and cute to make!]

I have almost finished all my Christmas gift making.. So,
it's time to  clean the sewing room, make the candies,
clean the house and get ready for Christmas.

Judy's Sewing Room Redo

Remember the  horrible desk chair.. Doesn't it look
better? Fabric from thrift store.$3.00 find.
Desk top was covered with wall paper [red check with
white lines..]This find came from a local carpet store.

Bookshelf .. I added the wall paper to the back of
the shelves. It is pretty in person [Oh how I
wish I could take decent photos.!!] Cathe,
do you see the sewing machine emblem
on it? thankyou!

An old rolling table, with a pull out shelf,
finds  a prettier life. Kenny brought this home
to me , from a friend who was going to
oust it. It is perfect for my embroidery machine,
since it has to be rolled to my computer to
be used.. But now it has a new look!!! Just wait
and see!!!

Curtains made from a white sheet I found at
the thrift store for $2. It is really pretty, It
is white stripes on white..Then I made the topper
out of  red/white gingham check fabric on the
bottom, with a white/pink/red/vintage floral
fabric.  I just love this little corner!!!

Embroidery Machine Table.. Now ,isn't she alot
prettier with her new red/white gingham check
skirt, with a new pink/red/blue floral vintage
fabric table topper! Whenever I am ready to
embroider, I just roll her over the computer.
Perfect Free Table and a wonderful , thoughtful
 hubby.

 I thought I would show you...I even
cleaned out my sewing desk drawer, to
show you I cleaned it.. But...did
you notice that I didn't open the closet and
cuppard doors to show photos of
all my "ABUNDANT" fabrics..[Because,
I didn't get around to cleaning and
refolding it..] Oooops... I shouldn't
tell off on myself.ha

Update on Judy [Missing in Action}

Hi my sweet friends,

Thankyou all so much for your sweet commments and prayers, I  appreciate it so much.

I am home from the hospital [Thank God.], I am still battling the asthma and it is winning
[lol]. I have to stay in for awhile. I have an appointment with my pulmonologist [lung doctor]
tomorrow. My doctor wants him to see if he can think of something else to do or change?
But , I do feel some better today ..So I feel I am heading up the hill  now.Yea!!!  Ready to'
sew.

As for my computer, I got it out of the shop, but as the computer doctor said, it's on it's
last leg, and I lost all my stuff on it..[So, If any of you have emailed me, I didn't get them,
and I have lost all email addresses too..so until I hear from you, I will have no way to get
them back, so sorry.. Please email me  your adresses again.].  As soon as  I can get out ,
I am going to buy a new computer. But until then.. I am hoping to be able to , at least , be
able to  communicate with my buddies and check out sew weekly..[sure  have missed  all
the sewing and what you lovely girls  have been doing].

   Hugs to you all. Judy

Judy is missing in action!

For those of you who think I have disappeared off the planet, I am still here!  My computer crashed (so I'm borrowing my granddaughter's at the moment)...........No computer leaves me in withdrawal~ :(

My asthma's been giving me fits, so my doctor has decided that I need to take a little "vacation".....I am going to lay in bed, rest, and have all of my "wonderful" meals hand-delivered to me (in the hospital).  Hopefully, I will be out soon, and my computer will be out of the shop as well, so that I can visit with all of you, my dear friends again!

Judy Won the Give Away Thread Catcher

I was so excited when I won the thread catcher give away at http://kjvjames117agg.blogspot.com/. Laura made this thread catcher. Please go to her blog and see the beautiful things she does.. She is such an
inspiration ..
I  just love it.. Instead of having to drag a garbage can close by to hold all my nips and bits of thread, I sit my thread catcher close by and it gets all the little threads.. So easy to take it from place to place for all your crafting and sewing projects..
Laura ,thankyou so much. I will treasure this special gift.

The Little Girl Who Loves Minnie Mouse

Minnie Mouse Dress and Doll Dress

I made this dress & matching doll dress , for  a specail little girl named Mia. She is turning
four years old. Happy Birthday Mia.

You see she loves the cartoon character Minnie Mouse.. So what better fabric than
this sweet minnie mouse print? The border is a red & white polka dot [since Minnie
is decked out in red & white polka dot.] I then added a black gross grain  ribbon
trim around it.

What fun to sew for the little ones!

Friendship

Lovely Package From a Sweet Friend

This week had  been a really rough week for Kenny.. He has been really sick
and we have spent alot of time  sleepless, worring, etc. But just knowing we have
our many friends and family praying for us , is such a blessing.. And so apprecaited.

When my day seemed so hard.....

I go to the mail box and what  a shocking surprise. My sweet, sweet talented
friend had mailed me a package across the world.[and she is sick ,herself!!].
As I tore into this package, The tears flowed. To think that   Rachel took the
time and made this lovely card. And added the sweet lace, and beautiful
buttons. And even added Kenny and I both a drink.. How thoughtful!!!
thankyou so much Rachel..  I will treasure my card for ever.

Goals for 2012

                                                          Sewing 2012

I must say, I did not do a New Years Resolution for 2012.. But  here is a list of  things I would like to accomplish this year.

1- My prayers is for  renewed health for each of my family. But mostly prayers for Kenny with his upcoming back surgery.

2- I pray , I will set an example for my kids, grandkids, and friends, That they would see the Lord in me. That I would be seen doing His will, And I would grow in His Grace.

3- Sewing --- this hobby brings so much joy and contentment in my life.. Did I say, I love it!! I find so much enjoyment from sewing itself, buying fabric /patterns, and talking to other like minded people.

   A. My goal is to "try" to use as much of my fabric stash , as possiable. And to buy less fabric..  I know, I will still buy fabric/patterns.. It just make me so happy!!! But I will refrain as much as possiable.

    B. My  goal is to really work on --making my garment fit better, and make the insides look as good as the outside. [Thankyou Cathe, you have instilled this in  me].

   C. I really want to learn to grade patterns, and learn to fit muslins better.

   D.  I would love to find more time, to read and study the many sewing books ,that I have.

  E. Continue to work on dieting. I lost 25 pounds in 2011 [I think Christmas holidays brough back about 5-6 pounds.eeeh]. I want to  loose another 20. This will help my health. It is a slow process, but I want it to stay off, and fast weight lost seems to return to  me.ha

All in all,  I am looking forward to fun sewing year, and sharing more of my sewing on my blog.
  Happy 2012!!!

Birthdays & Friends--What could be better?

I recently had a birthday..   It was a very good one.   My day was full with  family and the wonderful gifts , they gave me..  And late that afternoon,  the UPS truck came.. I wasn't expecting packages, so was shocked,  when he pulled in..  To my surprise,  there was this wonderful birthday present from my friend Cathe.   She is the most thoughtful and fun person .  She sent me all these wonderful things..  Polka dot fabric..[hint. you will be seeing this one show up on SW challenge]  a vintage red fabric [ because she knows  how much I love red and vintage],  a wonderful sewing tote bag.. I have already got to enjoy the  use of it.. [A recent trip to the doctors office,  it held my sewing books ,that I enjoyed ,while waiting .]   and  the most cherished item--- this tiny sewing machine. I wish you could all see it  in person..  It is adorable. The little drawer really opens and the foot petal really works.. So cute..
Thankyou Cathe,  for a very special birthday..
