Sewing.... Emily's Military Ball Dress--Simplicity 1195

Emily & Andrew
Military Ball 2017

Emily & Andrew

Emily is graduating in just a few weeks..[Where did the time
go?] She needed a  dress for the military ball, that she

would be attending with her sweet boyfriend, Andrew.
He is such a nice fellow..
We went pattern/fabric shopping and had so much fun!!
She chose Simplicity 1195. We used the bodice from
the hi/low dress, and put the long skirt on it. She
chose the sparkle silver  trim to go around the waist. Such
a pretty accent . We also got lace to go in the shoulder
pieces.

She and Andrew had a wonderful time. So happy I
could make the dress for her.

She will be attending her senior prom next week.. I have
to alter her dress..[ummmmh.. I must get started.☺]

Hope you have a  blessed week..

  6. They look so lovely - the dress is beautiful and in blue, so it matches Andrew's uniform. I'm glad she is involved with a boy of good character. My husband did his time for the military here as well, always a good sign.

  18. Oh Judy, what a beautiful dress! And, a gorgeous couple, too! You are the absolute best grandmother ever! Honestly, what a blessing it must be to have such a gift of sewing and to be able to share it with your darling grandkiddos - it has to be magical for them to choose an item they would love, and to have you make their dreams come true. Wonderful memories you are creating, as well! :)

  19. Did you know people are selling small scrunchies online, obviously made from scraps, for $6-$12? Google scrunchie do and you'll see it. My daughter bought a long hair piece called a scrunchie foo that came with instructions on about 12 different hairstyles, but it doesn't look anything like these scrappy things you see when you google that.
