Valentines Day Is Special..Why?

Kenny and I  are approaching another Valentines Day together. You see ,we have been married for 40 years. And we have seen some really good times and some really hard times.. I can't remember a Valentines day , going by , that I didn't get a box of Valentine candy.

Kenny is sick right now... and will be facing surgery on Valentines Day. This morning, he told me , he had to go to town.. Since, he has not really been out in the past few weeks ,due to his back troubles.I was shocked. I ask him, if he wanted me to drive for him..  He quickly replied," No. I need to do a few things."

When he arrived home, a short time later, with a pretty box of valentine  candy..He knew ,he wouldnt be able to on Valentines Day.. I felt tears dwell up in my eyes. This is what you call.. Love!!

  4. Oh, dear Judy, what a sweet man! My eyes just filled up as I read this post. Forty years...what a testimony to marriage. And, as you said, good marriages do have both good times and hard times. We both know that it is the hard times that makes our marriages that much stronger. We will be praying for your "sweetheart" as he goes through this surgery...as well as for the physicians who will be working on him...and for you, too, of course! We both know that "The Great Physician" is in control...so we will leave it in His most capable Hands and trust Him completely.

    With love and continued prayers,
    Laura

Yep , 40 yrs is a long time. Some times "really" long.lol I was 17 1/2 yrs old and Kenny was 19 , when we got married. Both of us were kids ,we didnt have a clue to what we were doing.lol. We had Cindy 13 months later...There were lots of good times, and a lot of struggling times.. But you know, I think the struggling times , really helped us.
Thankyou for your prayers and sweet comments.

  8. Praying & thinking of you both, that the surgery is successful and relief is acheived. What a wonderful husband to put his pain aside to show you his love for you. Chronic pain is so difficult for the person suffering from it and their loved ones. It is a testament to your love that it hasn't torn you apart.
