  4. Hey, cutie! A sailor top...that means you're ready for my neck of the woods! I can just picture you modeling your latest project out on one of the smelly lobster boats! LOL! Wish I could see a close-up of the white material...sounds adorable!

I had to laugh...I picked up this same pattern at a flea market sale...with a whole bunch of others for only a $1! You've inspired me to finally dig it out...might do it as a dress if I can find a good material.

Love your binding...you ought to think about doing a tutorial! I'm sure there are readers who would love any little tips you've come up with!

Hope you're having a great day...it is super HOT here today! Garden grew a foot overnight....YAHHHHHH!

    Love,
    Laura

The trimming on the collar is handmade bias tape.. I made it from some red/white stripe fabric scraps that I had..

  11. That is gorgeous! I think I'm going to steal the sailor idea for the 'collar' challenge! Hope you don't mind! By the way, my 'lily' didn't come out of a skip but I did rescue it from being lost forever. The pond it was in was being destroyed (how could they?...) so I 'saved' it and it's now rewarded me ... I'm also proud of a honeysuckle I have outside my front door. This came as a cutting from a car park where the gardeners were pruning and trimming a plant that had got out of hand. I used to walk past it every morning and the scent was magnificent ... so I had a go at starting one off and it now has a thick trunk twining around a pole and showers of wonderful flowers ...

    1. Thankyou Diane.. so proud that you saved the lily..It is so beautiful.. And so special, when you have to wait soooooo long on the bloom. I love honeysuckle too. We have a big vine beside our long drive way, and when it is blooming ,it spells wonderful.
I will feel honored if you make the sailor collar for your collar challenge.. Can't wait to see it.. Happy sewing my friend.

Just the right amount of vintage to be fun yet practical. Well done my friend. This one goes on the favorite list for sure!
