Wrap Dress... Here is another Olivia Walton --- Look alike dress. The fabric is a pretty teal blue with pretty flowers.. And I used fabric from my stash.. I am trying "really hard" , to do that!! This is not the fabric that Olivia's dresses would have been made from.. But, I love the colorful fabric. And bet if it would have been available to her, she would have liked it too.ha I love this style dress , it is really comfortable and easy to wear. I actually made this dress a month or so ago.. And just never got around to posting about it. Check out this blog post, to see a better photo of this fabric. The bottom photo is the fabric that I used.. I had posted a different pattern to use , but it didn't happen.. the wrap dress was chosen over the other patterns. http://sewblessedmaw.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-fabric-store-joanns-and-grand.html Thank you Eva Girl, for all your inspiration and help with this pattern.. |
I started this blog to share my sewing hobby..I love sewing !!!! I also will share- family photos , tips for our daily lives..cleaning, cooking and fun times.

It is very pretty. Teal is one of my favorite colors. I like how you paired a red belt w/ the dress. I would have never thought to do that :)
ReplyDeleteThank you..
DeleteI actually tried a cream colored belt [that is the color of the flower petals, but it just didn't do it.. The red was better..
These styles of dresses are so easy and practical, go anywhere sort of dresses. Lovely cool colour. I'm glad you used something from your stash - I'm starting on mine next:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, It feels good to use stash, and I really liked this fabric ,when I bought it..
DeleteThis is nice!! The belt sets it off so well. Finished not-my 1952 pattern, but didn't wear the dress Sunday, as I had nursery duty. Hopefully next week. Looking for a beige narrow belt to finish it off. May make a self-fabric one with a 'saved' buckle from Mom's button box. Will send you a pic soon..D
ReplyDeleteThank you Deedy... SO proud you finished your dress. So anxious to see it.. I know it will be pretty.. Using your mom's belt buckle would really make it special.. Have a nice day.
DeleteLovely! The color is beautiful on you and the fit of the dress is perfect - very flattering : ) Our schooling with the boys is just finishing up..I hope to get some of my patterns graded during summer break : )
