Small House Living...Finding a small Coat Closet ---Plus- Apple Pie

One of the things, I miss about my other
house--- coat closet.. My other one , was
small.. But, it  held our winter coats, and
several pairs of shoes, gloves, hats, etc.
SO.....
I found a little solution.  Behind the front door,
I hung two coat hooks. I found a  small closet
shelf at Lowes. It fit exactly in the small spot.
I added some red baskets in the shelves. This
will hold the gloves/hats,etc. And we each have
a place to  hang one jacket. We have a place to

for each of us to put one pair of shoes..  I also
have a place to put my purse. Works
great..

The front door stays open  all day , every day.
So most of the time, it won't be seen. smile.
I have  several rods in the bedroom closet,
and one was reserved for coats. Even though
we had  this coat rack, I wanted something
for  our every day jacket.. To throw on and
off quickly..  so. I am happy with my
make shift coat closet!!

Apple pie for  Hubby...  since he offered
to make a coat closet in the living room..
I declined his sweet offer,  The living room is
so small, we need every inch of space  we have.

  1. Love your solution and I bet he loved your apple pie! We do have a coat closet but you know it seems our favorite place to put the coats are on the backs of chairs! Every once in a while I get busy and hang them back up. Have a great night!

  6. What an excellent solution -you are finding all sorts of creative ways to make your small cottage a larger place. And nice and neat as well, so when the door is closed, the area still looks good.

  10. Hi Judy, your creativity definitely allowed you to solve a problem. Our house is old so we have had to be creative also (at least in our planning as we still have to action many of these ideas lol). I've been thinking about a rack with some hooks for my husband's jackets as they often get left on the back of the kitchen chairs. That makes me a little crazy lol.

    1. The hooks sound like a good idea.. I just hate coats/purses/shoes throwed on the chairs/floor. I always dread winter , because of this.ha
My hubby's outlook on this is , 'Well Judy, I am fixing to put it back on". well this will probably be the next day, when he puts it back on.lol

  11. Dear friend! I love your little coat closet! It is perfect! And, I SO appreciated your dear, sweet comment left on my blog today. Oh, it was such a dear blessing to me! Thank you for your faithful heart, support, and prayers. I tried to follow your blog, but for some reason it is telling me I do not have permission to follow it? It is probably something wacky with our computer. I will try again! God bless you abundantly for your encouragement to me today...I was in tears reading it, because only He knows how much I needed it. Sending you love and hugs!

You are very welcome.. I am proud I posted when I did.. God is good, He knows what we need , when we need it. It is such an important decision in our lives at this point.. Did you ever think , we would live to see these things happening? So sad. Praying for God to be with us.
Ps. not sure about the following blog thing?? Maybe it will fix it self ??? I am computer dumb , for sure.ha
