Simplicity 8330- Homecoming Court --Dress for Callie

Callie Noelle-
Callie was chosen to be in the Homecoming Court.
She had to have 3 dresses.. One formal gown [that
her mom bought]. Another dressy type dress for
photos for the newspaper, and one for the parade
ride. I made the above dress for her photo
in newspaper.

Callie chose  Simplicity 8330. It is a high neck halter
dress/ that is high neck halter in back also. It is
lined with a soft cotton blend. The fabric is a soft
poplin with stretch.

Simplicity 8330-- I made view C

The photo for the newspaper was Monday, the
parade ride and the formal homecoming walk
will be Friday. I will post photos later of these.

I really enjoyed sewing this dress. It was an
easy/enjoyable sew.. It has been awhile since
I have sewed.. I have a dress for myself that
I had started , when I found out  Callie needed
this dress. So now........ I will get back to sewing
my dress. Happy sewing to all.

I know..3 dresses.. In my children's days... It was not like that.[shows I am old.ha].. She did her own hair that morning for the photo.. but some of the kids, had appointments for getting their hair done at 5 am??????? Can you believe that? And this was just for the newspaper photos.lol Can't imagine what they will do on Friday when the real thing happens..??

I think I will pass on the job. I HATE alterations, and only do them , when I have too.lol I love to sew, and have sewed for the public, but think I will bypass that too.
      Have a great weekend.

  11. I love all the dresses you sew for your grand daughters. This one is lovely. Every time I look at your blog, I want to sew, since I love sewing. But, no projects in the works right now (I know, I say that every time!)

I did get a little bit of embroidery done, though, so that made me feel good. Instead, I've been trying to get some extra cooking and cleaning done around here, so that I will be ready for Thanksgiving. The week of Thanksgiving, I will be working with the kids I help care for every day, all day, right up to the Wednesday of that week, then will have over 20 people over here for dinner. So, I'm trying several dessert recipes, and a few others, so that I can either freeze the items or at least know I have a winner when the time comes. Today, I cleaned "to the corners" in the living room. My husband replaced the seal behind the sink on the counter in the kitchen. It was done with the wrong material and was collecting mold like crazy. So, little things that will all make the day easier when it comes.

  12. I so understand Becky.. I use to sew all the time, and it seems there is never enough time in the day?// Not sure where the time goes.
I too, am trying to get the house ready for Thanksgiving company.. It will be here before we know it. and then Christmas right around the corner.. I do love Christmas and look forward to it.
    Have a great week.
