British Sewing Bee ...And the Winner is.....

Great British Sewing Bee

Have you watched the Great British sewing Bee?  I have
been totally engrossed with each show. When the first
show was over, I couldn't wait for the next one to be
downloaded to you  tube.. [Yes , you  girls that
got to watch it on TV, I  was jealous of you.. ha]  Each
contestant , was so nice and so talented. And  I loved
that they used patterns to make their garments,  and
then they had episodes of hand sewing.. It was fun from
beginning to the end!!!  I was also impressed that they
had all types and ages of contestants.. So nice!

Did you pick a contestant that you wanted to win?  I did,
before  I saw the first show, I knew Tilly was going
to be on there, and I totally was putting her on my
winning team!!  She was fantastic!! But , do you know
what?  When I saw the first show, and all the contestants
were  on there, I could NOT choose one. That is  odd
for me,  I always have a "PICK".. but, all of them
were so nice, and so talented, that you couldn't
choose "just one" , You want everyone of them to win.

But...there had to be a final winner and  I was thrilled
to see  this person , be Ann.. She is 81 yrs old and
appeared to be so talented, and such a gracious winner.
Hooray to  Ann!!!

Ann with her trophy!! Isn't she adorable?

Have you seen the show?  If not,  check it out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPkQ3fmf6Rk
How did you feel about it, how did you feel about the contestants?
Who were you  rooting for? Will you watch the next  series?
Would love to hear your  feed back..
Happy sewing to each of you..

  2. So sorry , you have not had a chance to watch it.. It is a really nice quality show.. However, I do so understand the lack of time..[sad , we stay so busy , isn't it]. Have a great day.

  3. I'm with you Judy and think everyone was talented in their own way. I'm pleased that Ann won though because, after all, the judges were looking for the best sewer, which she clearly was. It's all been very exciting to watch. I was having a conversation with a lady in a fabric shop and we were both saying how great it was to have a programme like this and not another cookery show, which is all we seem to have on British TV these days ...

    1. Diane, I know that you all must be so proud of this show. It was so nice and well done.. I totally enjoyed each show, and am looking so forward to the 2014 shows..
We have a lot of cooking shows here too.. I like them... but would love to see more sewing related shows. We have Project runway.. But, I much prefer the British sewing bee.

  4. I am very happy that Ann won and it all had to do with the fact that when she was observed(especially by a sewing teacher of 40 years) her skills were spot on. She didn't believe in skipping important details/steps. Simply divine!

  8. Ooo yes I have been watching this, I missed the first programme and caught up on the internet. I have not been doing much sewing of late but this show certainly inspired me to start sewing again!
I thought Ann would win from the very beginning, don't get me wrong I was very impressed with the talent of the other sewers but Ann clearly was the most talented stitcher, her work was perfect and also she is such a lovely lady.
It must have been tough performing in front of the cameras like that, I think I would crack under the pressure!

I will be visiting Lauren's new shop in Birmingham, can't wait to see that, just wish I could have got there for the grand opening on Saturday.
